Well Traveled, Well Educated and Talented
Nilda Andrews is outgoing, fun, and passionate about film, theater, art and the performing arts. She was born in Manhattan but grew up in San Francisco so has east/west coast sensibilities, although she remembers at the tender age of 6 how unsophisticated San Francisco seemed. Now having traveled to England, Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, and most recently to Argentina, she can think of nowhere else to live except the San Francisco Bay Area.
Career/Education
Nilda has a Master’s Degree from San Francisco State University in English (TESOL) and a B.A. in Liberal Arts with a minor in Sociology from California East Bay University. She currently teaches at the College of Marin and Solano Community College. Previously she spent 20+ years in the legal field as a paralegal and attorney education administrator. She enjoyed working with young aspiring attorneys, but now as a college instructor, she says it’s the dream of a lifetime to be teaching.
Interests
She is a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer for at-risk kids. She feels this is an important opportunity to help those kids who do not have the advantages that others have. It is one way of giving back to the community. “It is a very rewarding experience to see a child blossom emotionally and help fulfill their aspirations,” she recounts.
