Ernie Hooker, CADC II, NCAC II |
Addiction Specialist, Comedian and Over-all Good Guy
Called 'The Dear Abby of Addiction,' Ernie Hooker also writes editorials, short stories and photography essays in the travel section. As well as being an advisor (sounding board, mentor, how to guy, you name it...) for Living Life...Boomer Style Magazine.
Hooker has a regular column in Living Life...Boomer Style called 'Ask Ernie' where he educates, amuses and enlightens. He not only answers questions about addictions, he pens several easy to follow columns on addiction and codependency. Once you understand addiction and grab it by the tail it actually becomes pretty funny. Not a pretty thing when it's running you, but with Hooker's expertise, you don't have to let that be the case.
Turns the Complex in Easy Reading
He has a way of taking complex subjects and making them easy to understand. For instance, his Ten Myths of Codependency is a popular, much read article as is Alcoholism Myths, which opens up new ways of thinking about addiction and treatment.
Hooker is working on a series called of comical columns, styled after Jeff Foxworthy's 'You May be a Redneck If...' His series looks at the lifestyles of alcoholics, codependents and other addictions which plagued many boomers.
