Interesting, Diverse with Multi-Careers
Photographer and writer for Living Life...Boomer Style, Arthur Cofresi (Art) was born in San Francisco in Sept. 1949. He graduated from Balboa High School in 1967.
Career and Education:
He spent three years at a marine engineering trade school in Baltimore, Maryland and then spent over a year as an engine apprentice. Cofresi sailed to West Africa, the West Coast of South America, Mexico, and all over the U.S. In 1970after recieving a Third Marine Engineer’s License in 1970, he joined the Navy.
Not done yet...he joined San Francisco Fire Dept. in 1974 and retired twenty-six years later as a Lt. in the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
Also, in the early ‘80s Cofresi served three years as a Med-Tech in an Aero-Medicvac Squadron at Travis AFB and flew on missions to Alaska, Hawaii, and the South Pacific. The industrious guy also worked several years for PG&E as an auxiliary engineer and lineman, and for AT&T as a construction splicer building DSL fiber optic plants.
He received an A.A. Degree in History in 1994 from San Francisco City College. Currently, he is planning to attend U.C. Davis for B.A. Degree in History.
Personal Life:
After his discharge from the navy, Cofresi met his wife, Linda, on a doorstep. They have been married 36 years; have two children, and three grandchildren. His current job is babysitting granddaughters’ part time.
Of this he says, "Hardest job I ever had."
